- The UN Pavilion highlights the work of 24 UN bodies and international organizations, to raise Expo visitors' awareness on: marine pollution from oil; marine litter; deep seabed marine biodiversity; over-fishing; and the impacts of climate change on oceans and coasts. - The Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA), a joint UN initiative, is inviting comments on its publication titled “PROVIA Guidance on Assessing Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation,” which aims to serve as an update of earlier Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines (1994) and the UN Environment Progamme (UNEP) Handbook (1996).
- The Programme of Research on Climate Change Vulnerability, Impacts and Adaptation (PROVIA), a joint UN initiative, has announced it has released draft listing of the global research vulnerability, impacts and adaptation, which aims to identify the major gaps in knowledge that currently form a barrier to policies of response to the challenge of climate change.

- The region of Langeness, Germany is the world’s most important inter-tidal zone on the frontline of climate change, UNEP/GRID-Arendal notes, and key testing ground for adaptation policies and measures. - UNEP Patron for Arts and Environment Yuan Xikun made the 3.9m sculpture of Nüwa, who according to Chinese mythology smelted a seven colour stone to block a hole in the sky to repair the wall of heaven. Nüwa was chosen to draw parallels with modern-day challenges of ozone depletion and climate change.
